Buckeye Bulletin's Pro-Ramaswamy Pages Linked to California Conservative Donor Network
Meta lists the Lincoln Media Foundation on the Ohio site's social accounts. The same foundation was tied to seven similar outlets in 2024.
The Facebook and Instagram accounts for the Buckeye Bulletin are managed by the Lincoln Media Foundation, according to Meta's advertising data. The foundation is tied to the Lincoln Club of Orange County. The Los Angeles Times, in Clara Harter's October 25 story, described the club as the oldest and largest conservative donor organization in California. IRS records show the club and the foundation are associated and share at least two executives.
The Bulletin calls itself an Ohio news site committed to "reliable journalism" and "strong editorial standards." It appeared this spring. The articles have no bylines. There is no staff list. The site does not ask readers to subscribe, and it does not say who pays for it. The Bulletin, the club, and the foundation did not respond to the Times.
The social pages launched in March. Since then they have posted endorsements of Vivek Ramaswamy and criticism of Amy Acton, including her record as Ohio's public health director and her refusal to debate. Last week the pages boosted Ramaswamy's ad featuring Acton's estranged mother. The Times reported that the ad drew condemnation from Democrats and from some Republicans, including Gov. Mike DeWine.
The Ohio pages sit on a record the Times already had. In 2024, Max Read of the Institute for Strategic Dialogue identified seven outlets tied to the Lincoln Media Foundation. One was aimed at Los Angeles. The others targeted Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Read told the Times the group spent more than $63,000 on Facebook and Instagram ads in that cycle. He said the Buckeye Bulletin matched the look of those pages, including the Facebook and Instagram design. CalMatters, earlier this year, tied the same foundation to the California Courier, which ran ads criticizing Gov. Gavin Newsom and Proposition 50.
The Buckeye Bulletin is the Ohio entry in that set: a site with no byline and no funding line, social accounts under the Lincoln Media Foundation, and posts running through a governor's race.
